Ignite 2017 took place on Thursday, Oct. 19 at the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management. Ignite, a collaboration between Carlson School and YA—one of the largest engagement marketing and promotions companies in the nation which relocated downtown in 2015—helped bridge the U of M together with the downtown community.
As one of The 2025 Plan’s initiatives, helping create a stronger relationship between the U and downtown businesses trying to attract and retain top talent from graduates leaving the school each year is an important piece of keeping downtown thriving. YA President & CEO Chris Behrens has been active in the mpls downtown council both as a board member and 2025 Plan committee advocate, and their efforts with Ignite are spot on with The 2025 Plan’s vision for bringing prospective employees and employers together.
During the event, representatives from YA, Carlson School of Management, Comcast, U.S. Bank, The Wharton School-University of Pennsylvania, General Mills, New York University and ESPN all discussed their marketing strategies in an informational presentation and panel format. Networking also took place during the event.
