Nicollet is is a 12-block stretch in the heart of downtown home to Fortune 500 companies, unique dining options, retail and more. It is currently undergoing a $50 million renovation that will add greening and enhance the pedestrian experience. Nicollet will be substantially complete by the end of 2017.

Stone Arch Bridge

The Stone Arch Bridge was built by James J. Hill in the 1880s to help connect his railroads across the Mississippi River. It has since been transformed into a pedestrian and biking bridge, and it offers one of downtown’s best skyline views as well as an up-close look at St. Anthony Falls.

Visit the Mary Tyler Moore statue at the Minneapolis Visitor Information center on the corner of 7th and Nicollet, right outside The Dayton’s Project. The statue pays tribute to Mary Tyler Moore, whose character Mary Richards made Minneapolis a pop-culture destination on the Mary Tyler Moore Show during the 1970s.

U.S. Bank Stadium

U.S. Bank Stadium is home to the Minnesota Vikings, our National Football League team. It is also home to concerts and large events, and it will host both Super Bowl LI in 2018 and the NCAA men’s basketball Final Four in 2019. Building the new Vikings stadium downtown was a 2025 Plan initiative.

Foshay Tower

The Foshay Tower was Minneapolis’ tallest skyscraper from when it was built in 1929 through the IDS Center’s construction in 1972. Visit its museum and observation deck on the 30th floor for great views of the city and a history lesson on the building itself, or stop on the 27th floor and enjoy a speakeasy-style experience at the Prohibition Bar.

Orpheum Theatre

The Orpheum is part of the Hennepin Theatre Trust theaters, and it hosts several runs of Broadway shows each year. The Orpheum is the largest attended HTT theatre in downtown, and it is routinely in Pollstar’s annual Top 20 list worldwide for theater attendance.
