To stay connected with the most current safety information from our Law Enforcement and business partners, DID is hosting virtual safety meetings on Friday. The DID virtual safety meetings are an opportunity for our Law Enforcement partners to give us weekly safety updates and business partners to ask questions or share concerns. Typically more than 100 people join the call to hear updates from Mpls Police Department’s 1st Precinct, Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office and Metro Transit PD. If you are interested in being added to the call, email Kaitlyn Lawdenski at klawdenski@mplsdowntown.com.

The DID Safety Communication Center (SCC) remains vigilant by staying connected to private security teams downtown through our RadioLINK security communication initiative. We currently have over 65 buildings joined on RadioLINK. DID is using new tools such as our RadioLINK online dashboard and WhatsApp communications to help stay connected and collaborate with our security partners at an enhanced level.
Starting April 6, DID launched a new initiative with MPD focused on livability and homeless engagement. These efforts are led by Lt. Grant Snyder, with the focus on enhanced harm reduction prevention strategies for vulnerable and homeless individuals within DID. To engage with homelessness individuals and connect them to social services or resources.
