photos: explore downtown living offers new perspective on life in the heart of the city

Explore Downtown Living returned for its fourth year in downtown Minneapolis on Saturday, May 19. The event featured 20 properties and approximately 20 downtown businesses offering deals and promotions to those taking part. It’s a free event that is focused on offering residential community tours in downtown’s five distinct neighborhoods.

The event, a 2025 plan development committee initiative aiming to help double the downtown residential population, has produced 18,000 apartment unit tours in seven tour events since May 2015. On May 19, Explore Downtown Living saw more tour-to-lease conversions than in any prior tour date. One property leased its largest three-bedroom unit after an Explore Downtown Living participant returned on Monday for a private tour of available units. Other properties enjoyed return visits on Monday and Tuesday as a direct result of Saturday’s event. Co-chair Bethany Bowers said the results were some of the best return ratios that properties have seen in the event’s history.

Explore Downtown Living had three new properties on the tour: The M on Hennepin, Nordhaus and East End. From the 31-story 4Marq apartments to EDITION’s backyard view of U.S. Bank Stadium—and everything in between—there was a wide range of downtown residences to explore. Check out exploredtliving.com for information regarding our next event on Saturday, September 22.
