Runnicles Conducts Vaughan Williams

It has been more than two decades since Sir Donald Runnicles last conducted the Minnesota Orchestra. His return features a program woven together with great lyrical strength, opening with Carlos Simon’s emotional Elegy, a work in remembrance of Trayvon Martin, Eric Garner and Michael Brown. Soprano Jacquelyn Stucker makes her Minnesota Orchestra debut, singing the romantic melodies of Alban Berg’s Seven Early Songs. The second half of the concert features shimmering and sonorous music by Ralph Vaughan Williams and Edward Elgar.
