Fargo Moorhead Area Youth Symphonies

In the 52nd year of the Fargo Moorhead Area Youth Symphonies, this is a first-time experience for our three orchestras to perform in Orchestra Hall. Our string orchestras are the Concert Strings (grades 6-8), conducted by Brian Cole, and the Attacca Strings (grades 9-12), conducted by Lindsay Schwartz Miiller. Our full orchestra is the Symphony Orchestra (grades 9-12), conducted by Jane Linde Capistran. Jane Linde Capistran will be retiring from the Youth Symphonies at the end of this season. In part, this concert is a celebration of her 50-year span with the youth symphony, starting as a student member in 1973. Soloing with her Symphony Orchestra will be violinists Madeline Capistran, FMAYS concertmaster in 2003, and Pam Arnstein, Mrs. Capistran’s stand partner in 1973. Pam has been a member of the Minnesota Orchestra for the past 40 years.
