The Mpls WinterSkate ice rink will return to Loring Park for the 2018-19 winter season. In order to best keep the Loring Park community informed about all events, activities and logistics regarding the skating rink throughout the year. In order to ensure complete transparency, this webpage will provide you a hub that you can reference to know when things will be taking place regarding load-in, events and programming, and load-out this winter.

If you have any questions, concerns or feedback regarding the Mpls WinterSkate rink, we invite you to email us at [email protected]. This will be the best course of action to ensure your voice is heard and responses happen in a timely fashion.

We also welcome you to fill out our brief 2018 Mpls WinterSkate survey to help inform us about who is using the rink and your experiences with it in Loring Park.

Community group participants & outreach: Figure Skating Club of Minneapolis, Minneapolis Public Schools, St. Louis Park high school boys’ hockey team, Minneapolis youth hockey organizations, DinoMights hockey club, Twin Cities Moms Blog, Kinship of Greater Mpls, Emerson School, Let’s Play Hockey, and more.

Inclusivity and accessibility: Mpls WinterSkate strives to provide a fun, free location for the community and beyond to enjoy. All ages and abilities are welcome. The rink offers opportunities for new skaters to learn through free lessons or use training equipment to help keep skaters on their feet.

Rink natural melting of ice complete and final load-out of rink and equipment

**In addition to the Mpls WinterSkate build-out, there will also be Holidazzle build-out beginning in mid-October until Thanksgiving, including: load-in of Holidazzle infrastructure, security on site, vehicle in park overnight, operational equipment loaded in, dumpsters placed, stages build out, event perimeter fencing, begin electrical work, decor, load-in and load-out.
