The Wells Fargo Mpls WinterSkate is open daily from November 23 through December 23, and you can skate during all Loring Park hours of operation. The Warming House courtesy of CenterPoint Energy is open 3-9 pm on Mondays-Fridays, 9 am-9 pm on Saturdays and 10 am-6 pm on Sundays. It is open from 12 pm-9 pm on Minneapolis Public School release days. There are special hours for certain holidays, and you can find the full list of holiday hours at www.mplsdowntown.com/winterskate.

 

What does it cost to skate?

It is free for all ages to skate at the Wells Fargo Mpls WinterSkate.

 

Are there skate rentals?

Yes, complimentary skates of different sizes are available for use on a first-come, first-serve basis.

 

What weather conditions might cause Mpls WinterSkate to close?

In the event of inclement weather (heavy snow or a combined temperature and windchill of 20 below zero), the warming house will be closed.

 

What are the best parking options?

There is street parking available around Loring Park on a first-come, first-serve basis. There are also ramps nearby that are quick walks to Loring Park, including Minneapolis College (1420 Hennepin Avenue) and LPM Apartments (1369 Spruce Place)

 

Are there skate assists available?

Yes, skate assists are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

 

Are strollers allowed on the ice?

No strollers, carts or sleds allowed on ice, except for necessary accessibility equipment.
