a water-filled afternoon at the most epic family day

It was water galore at Target Field Station this past Sunday. The Most Epic Family Day, which is a part of Go Outside with Hennepin County summer programming, took place on the afternoon of Sunday, August 13 from 12-4 pm and featured an abundance of fun activities for the entire family. Many of the activities were water-themed to create a “lake-like day in the city” feeling. Despite a few rain drops, the afternoon was still enjoyed by all in attendance.

The entire Target Field Station plaza was activated with fun things to do, including a waterslide, mini-golf, a slip-and-slide, glitter hair, water-wars, lawn games, prizes, arts and crafts, and much more. Epic Family Day also featured a showing of the movie “Moana,” which began at 1:30 pm. There was also a special guest in attendance during the film, as well… Moana herself! Moana gave dancing lessons and took pictures with her fans while she was there.

The day was filled with water-themed fun and games for the entire family to enjoy all afternoon long. We were happy to see a great crowd come out and enjoy a lake-like day in our wonderful city of downtown mpls! See some pictures the day below.
