photos: mdc member event: downtown residential development

The mpls downtown council hosted a member event on October 11 focused on residential development in downtown mpls. To meet the goal of doubling downtown residential population, the downtown 2025 plan calls for the addition of 15,000 residential units between 2010 – 2025. And, according to Dylan Thomas’ recent article in The Journal, “Persistent lack of supply has been one of the factors behind rising home prices in Minneapolis, and a mid-summer snapshot of the housing market showed supply was still not close to meeting demand.” The event took place at the Hyatt Regency on Nicollet.

This lunch event featured networking, a meal, and expert analysis of the downtown housing scene from the following panel:

  • Gina Dingman, Principal, Everest Real Estate Advisors
  • Kelly Doran, Founder and Principal, Doran Companies
  • Chris Osmundson, Director of Development, Alatus
  • Scott Andresen, Attorney, Bassford Remele, and co-chair of the Minnesota Housing Options Coalition
