Ignite 2018 marketing conference, produced by YA and the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management, took place Thursday, September 20 and focused on “Protecting Trust in Today’s Consumer Journey.” The second annual Ignite event brought in a collection of local professionals and U of M students to listen to a robust key-note marketing leadership speakers lineup including:

  • Jamie Moldafsky, Wells Fargo Chief Marketing Officer
  • Gary Judd, global leader of Frankin Covey’s “Speed of Trust” practice
  • Leslie Gaines-Ross, Weber Shandwick Chief Reputation Strategist
  • U of M professors Melissa Koenig, Akshay Rao and Kathleen Vohs

Ignite launched in 2017, offering a conversation about sparking action in marketing across all platforms. It received high marks from attendees, gaining a 97 net promoter score (NPS)—a testament YA CEO Chris Behrens attributes to a format bringing cutting-edge research and real-world business issues together.

This year’s Ignite conference’s topic was timely. Trust is a pivotal part of today’s conversation both in professionally and personally. Speakers at Ignite focused on how trust within a business culture is incredibly important in being able to build trust between a company and its client, how we’re seeing trust built from a young age, how to re-build trust when it’s broken, how marketing tactics can help or hurt trust between a company and its consumer, and more.
