There was no better place to discuss the Re-Development of the Riverfront in mpls than the view we had of the Mississippi River at the Guthrie Theater this morning.
Today’s Good Morning Mpls event focused solely on new and upcoming developments along the Mississippi Riverfront in mpls. The morning began with wonderful networking and breakfast from 7:30-8:00 am overlooking the river at the top of the Guthrie. Just past 8:00 am, things moved into the beautiful Dowling Studio with a beautiful downtown mpls skyline backdrop behind the panel of speakers.
This particular Good Morning Mpls event featured six panelists. Speakers included Executive Director of Minneapolis Parks Foundation Tom Evers, Assistant Superintendent of Minneapolis Park Board Michael Schroeder, President of Damon Farber Associates Tom Whitlock, Design Principal and Vice President of HGA Architects Joan Sorrano, CEO of First Avenue & the 7th St. Entry Dayna Frank, and Principal of Coen+Partners Robin Ganser.
The theme of the program revolved around the re-development of the riverfront. Main topics of discussion included the RiverFirst initiative, a new Water Works Park coming to downtown mpls, an amphitheater music venue planned the Upper Harbor Terminal, and more.
Thank you to the Minneapolis Regional Chamber of Commerce, Meet Minneapolis, Guthrie Theater, Xcel Energy, and BMO Harris Bank for making this wonderful event possible. It was a great morning that featured compelling conversation at a gorgeous location.
