Troilus and Cressida

Following characters from The Iliad, Shakespeare brings new life and wit to well-known personalities of Greek mythology — the lovers Troilus and Cressida and the warriors Achilles and Patroclus — as they battle against one of Troy’s strongest warriors and Cressida’s brother, Prince Hector. Achilles has sworn off fighting while Hector tries to get him back on the battlefield, and Troilus and Cressida are separated during the Trojan War because of Cressida’s family. Can these lovers and soldiers find success on and off the battlefield? And who will survive in the Bard’s version of this heroic drama?

• Director Michelle O’Neill graduated from Juilliard and has performed in over 20 Guthrie productions. Her intimate knowledge of Shakespeare coupled with her familiarity with the B.F.A. program make her an ideal director for this production.
