History and fun come together in a day of family activities in the museum’s open-air Ruin Courtyard. Learn about the people who worked in the Mill District, the former flour milling capital of the world. Try your hand at moving flour sacks with the tools workers used, learn about safety equipment, share your Minneapolis story at our participatory exhibit, explore artifacts from industries around the riverfront, and grab a boxcar craft to take home (while supplies last)!
Please enter the Ruin Courtyard from West River Parkway. This program is part of “What makes Minneapolis, Minneapolis?” a new outdoor series that examines the historical and contemporary identity of the city.
