Minnesota Youth Symphonies takes the stage for their Winter Concert, showcasing the talents of students in five orchestras. The program will feature iconic works including Copland’s “Hoe-Down” from Rodeo, Shostakovich’s Waltz No. 2, Respighi’s Pines of Rome, Stravinsky’s The Firebird, and Hindemith’s Symphonic Metamorphosis. Violin soloist Anna Pitsavas Wakely, winner of the Symphony Solo Competition, will take center stage to perform Sarasate’s electrifying Zigeunerweisen with the Symphony Orchestra.
