Metro Transit seeks public input on D Line project

Metro Transit is looking for community feedback on an upcoming project in the Route 5 corridor.

Metro Transit is planning a rapid bus service, the D Line, to substantially replace Route 5, running primarily on Chicago and Emerson/Fremont Avenues. Rapid bus brings better amenities, faster service and a more comfortable ride.

Several potential station locations have been identified by Metro Transit, who are now in the station planning phase of the D Line project. Pending full project funding, D Line stations would be constructed in 2020 and 2021. But for right now, Metro Transit needs your input.

There are several ways to comment on the plan:

  • Review the plan & comment online at metrotransit.org/d-line-project
  • Email comments to DLine@metrotransit.org
  • Call Metro Transit customer relations at (612) 333-3333
  • Attend an open house to learn more, talk with project staff, and provide comments:
    • Saturday, February 17, 2:00 – 4:00 pm at Mall of America Transit Center
    • Wednesday, February 21, 6:00 – 8:00 pm at North High School
    • Thursday, February 22, 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Wellstone High School
    • Saturday, March 3, 2:00 – 4:00 pm at Brooklyn Center Transit Center

Metro Transit will report back to the community with revisions in a recommended plan this spring, and bring a final plan to the Metropolitan Council this summer for approval.
