The Dayton’s Project announces Ernst & Young LLP as first office tenant

The Dayton’s Project made the following announcement on March 23, 2021.

Today, The Dayton’s Project announced Ernst & Young LLP (EY US) as a major tenant for the reinvented modern office spaces in the heart of downtown Minneapolis. EY US is a global leader in assurance, consulting, strategy and transactions and tax services with more than 700 locations in over 150 countries. For its 800 professionals in Minneapolis, EY US is leasing 30,536 square feet on the fifth floor of The Dayton’s Project.

“As an innovative professional services firm seeking an efficient office space, EY US found their ideal work environment at The Dayton’s Project,” said Brian Whiting, President of The Telos Group LLC, one of the groups leading the redevelopment. “This is exactly the type of tenant we had in mind for this project. Firms like EY US lead Minneapolis in business innovations. They saw the advantages of having the best tenant amenities in Minnesota to attract and retain a top-tier workforce.”

EY US is the first announced office tenant in the 1.2 million square foot building. They plan to take occupancy of the space this fall.

“We’ve chosen to stay in downtown Minneapolis as part of our ongoing commitment to the community and to the market as we continue to grow and expand in Minnesota,” said Mike O’Leary, Minneapolis Office Managing Partner, EY US. “Our firm is incredibly excited to make our new Minneapolis home in The Dayton’s Project. It’s an iconic building that elicits fond and nostalgic memories for so many Minnesotans and has historic significance to the entire community and our firm — especially as we commit to continue our over 100-year-old presence in downtown Minneapolis. At the same time, the remarkable technology, collaboration space and digital innovation that has gone into the building embodies our future as we continue to be leaders helping companies transform in a rapidly changing environment. As the future of work continues to be defined, we are passionately focused on the continued well-being of our employees through the usage of healthy building technologies and continuing to offer flexible work environments and resources to our professionals.”

Standing at 12 stories, The Dayton’s Project features exceptional modern office, dining and retail spaces, including an innovative 45,000 square foot food hall curated by celebrity chef, Andrew Zimmern. EY US and other office tenants will have access to exclusive amenities, including a spacious green rooftop and terrace with stunning views of downtown Minneapolis, an all-season tenant lounge, heads-down workspace and a 10,000 square foot state-of-the-art fitness center. “Minneapolis has faced the same challenges that other cities have,” said Erin Fitzgerald, a principal with Transwestern working on The Dayton’s Project, “But tenants with vision, like EY US, will lead the charge back to the office, back to downtown. There is no better spot to center the rebirth of Minneapolis than The Dayton’s Project, which has been the heart of the city for over a century.”
