CenterPoint Energy takes great pride in being part of the downtown Minneapolis community. It is, after all, where their roots have been planted since their very beginning.
That’s why CenterPoint Energy re-invested in their downtown home by opening their new office space on 5th and Nicollet four years ago (pictured above)—equipped with the Minneapolis Visitor Information center on the first floor as a resource for tourists to get to know our city. It is why they are an active sponsor of major downtown events like Holidazzle and Aquatennial—including the CenterPoint Energy Torchlight Parade in July—and it is why they are a mpls downtown council Skyline Partner, helping our organization create an extraordinary downtown.

The mdc’s 2025 Plan sets a solid framework through which downtown Minneapolis continues to grow and thrive. In particular, mdc’s focus on increasing the residential population, greening and creating a consistently compelling downtown experience are all extremely important activities that create positive momentum for our city.
The mdc’s vision for downtown Minneapolis, she said, will enhance the area overall while creating a better city to call home. The Mpls Downtown Improvement District and its ambassadors are also a great asset for the downtown community, helping our city’s core stay greener, cleaner and safer.

CenterPoint Energy matches the mdc’s enthusiasm for creating a vibrant downtown through efforts like their sponsorship of Aquatennial’s CenterPoint Energy Torchlight Parade, which took place on July 24. They’ve been part of the parade for 19 consecutive years and its predecessor companies since the first nighttime parade began 80 years ago and love what it brings to the downtown community.
