The Minneapolis Local Organizing Committee announced new statistics that highlighted the 2019 NCAA men’s basketball Final Four weekend in downtown Minneapolis. Below are a few statistics that showcase the impact the event had on our downtown community:

72,062 national championship game attendance

36,599 Final Four Friday attendance

200,000 Tipoff Tailgate on Nicollet attendance

76,560 Final Four Fan Fest attendance

135 million social video views

120 million impressions from social media content

100 million live streams–an all-time record

10 percent increase in household viewership year-over-year

2,442 credentialed media–an all-time record

Virginia won its first national championship, defeating Texas Tech on Monday, April 8 at U.S. Bank Stadium. Michigan State and Auburn rounded out the Final Four teams.
